What’s New from Community by Association?
Happy New Year! I don’t think it’s ever felt as good to say those three words than it does right now. 2020 gave us a fair share of challenges, but in spite of it all community prevailed. Online community became more important than ever in helping organizations figure out how to bring people together in meaningful ways in the absence of live events. But it wasn’t just about bringing people together. It was about creating spaces to provide value to the individuals these organizations serve in ways that would continue to build loyalty, brand awareness, and serve member/customer needs.
That being said, Community by Association is also evolving. We will continue our focus on associations and nonprofits, and we will also be adding resources and services to help those who are managing community in these spaces be more successful. At the end of 2020, we added a few more tools that will strengthen the community muscle in these spaces, in addition to the blog, that I want to make sure you’re aware of:
Resources for job seekers and employers
With the influx of community management jobs (and community managers looking for opportunities), we have launched a job board called the Community by Association Career Center. You can find this resource here. This allows community builders to create a free account, upload their resume, and make themselves visible to employers looking for their next community hire. This is also a space for organizations to list their community jobs for a small fee and search available resumes. The career center is up and running and ready for employers and job seekers, alike. If you have questions on what’s available or how to get started, please reach out to info@communitybyassociation.com.
Access to knowledgeable consultantsThere are an abundance of community consultants in the association and nonprofit space that can help these sort of organizations get started with their community planning and prepare to bring on full-time staff to keep their communities going. Community by Association is piloting a program that helps associations and nonprofits get connected to those consultants. The Community by Association Consultant Network consists of a small group of knowledgeable consultants that can help you revitalize your existing community or get one started. All you have to do is submit a form with your needs and we’ll get you connected to the right consultant. There is no fee for the initial intake and any contracting fees are agreed upon between the consultant and the organization. You can find more information about the CbA Consultant Network here.
New community home
The Community by Association practitioner community has been around for about a year, but we’ve recently moved from Mighty Networks to Crowdstack! This migration will provide opportunities for practitioners to submit their own content, create better connections, and find more answers to the challenges they are facing within the association and nonprofit community building space. New capabilities and features are being added every day, so if you’re not a part of the community, make sure you take the time to join here.
In addition to these new and updated experiences, you can look forward to video content, virtual learning labs, and resources that will help you boost your community career.
I’m excited for the year ahead. Be sure you keep an eye on the new Community by Association site to stay up to date on what’s coming next. Additionally, if you have suggestions, we’d love to hear from you. Just email info@communitybyassociation.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Happy New Year and wishing you all the best!
